CHASE BAIRD - ARIZONA

BIO

Chase has been swimming competitively for 15 years. He was 8 when he joined our local swim club Mesa Aquatics. He is still with the club and practices and does meets with Senior group and the Masters group. We always had the support of coaches and officials every step or should I say stroke of the way? Chase’s older and younger sisters also swam so it was a huge family affair! Living in AZ swimming is the best exercise and sport! During his club years Chase excelled at Special Olympics swim and also played other sports like soccer, basketball, track and field.

Because of the excellent training and hard work in MAC he made the HS Swim Team at Mountain View, Mesa Az all four years and lettered!

After HS Chase was accepted to GRAND Canyon University in Az where he received a 2 year certificate for completing the LOPES Academy. He graduated in 2021.

Chase currently works three jobs, he works for the Ciry of Mesa as. Recreation Aide for an after school program for kids K-6. He also works as a greeter for the Phx Suns at the Footprint Center and the Az Coyote Ice Hockey team.

Every morning Chase is at the gym lifting weights with his friends, it makes him stronger in the water!

One of Chase’s favorite activities is being an art of the HIP HOP HOMIES DANCE Group. They perform all over our city and major sorting event half times. It is a wonderful message of Inclusion and something not to miss!

Chase has been traveling to many swim meets for Move United and Paralympics. His favorites strokes are the fly, free and Breast . He is very excited to be a part of the USA Down Syndrome National Team for 2024 and looking forward to more swimming!
