Started swimming at the age of 2 to improve her overall health. Then through therapy and swim lessons she learned all 4 strokes at a young age. She started competing at team meets at the age of 6 and joined a developmental swim team. At the age of 10 she joined her local Special Olympics Team. Through encouragement from her coaches she moved on to a club team and eventually competed in USA age group swimming. Lauren was a high school letterman on her swim team. She now swims in USA Club and USA Masters competitions.
